I have two baskets in my aspirationally-named "prayer room," full of books. One is all Dallas Willard; the other is all Zahnd, Keller, Greig, Yancy, Wright, and DeGroat, among others. Those are the ones I haven't read yet. On my bookshelves are Villodas, Staton, Comer, Rohr, and other luminaries with lesser publicists, that I have started but not finished because a shiny new distraction showed up. That doesn't even count a whole screen of prayer apps and devotionals. I feel seen.

But enough about me; let's talk about you. How did YOU find out about my life? I don't recall inviting you in, because if I knew you were coming over, I would've dusted and put your Healing book on top of the pile. One would think I would remember whether or not I had dusted since it's usually something of an event. Sort of like a cage match with me fighting both sides. Which pretty much describes my whole life, as you have noted.

Give me some notice the next time you come over and I'll make some chamomile tea and we can sit on the deck box-breathing and looking at the nearby foothills, and chat above the sound of traffic.

Been working my way through “Healing What’s Within” a second (or third?) time - and those 3 essential questions: where are you?, who told you?, and where have you taken your hunger?….oye! especially that last one! - Still more to explore with compassion and curiosity.
